I currently work as a Research Scientist at Eurecat, Barcelona. I got my Ph.D. at the Dept. of Mathematics and Computer Science, University of Barcelona, 2016. I received my B.S. degree in Computer Science in 2010 at the same university and my M.Sc. degree in Artificial Intelligence in 2012 at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. I have been member of the groups Human Pose Recovery and Behavior Analysis (HuPBA) and Scene UNderstanding and Artificial Intelligence (SUNAI), at the Computer Vision Center and Open University of Catalonia. I was a visiting researcher at the group Qarma at the Laboratoire d'Informatique Fondamentalle (LIF), Aix-Marseille Université, with close collaboration with Dr. Isabelle Guyon, one of the co-inventors of the widely used Support Vector Machines (SVM). I belong to the scientific committee of the ChaLearn Looking At People, which is involved in challenges and competitions machine learning and affective computing. As part of the Program Committee, I have co-organized events, challenges and workshops in several conferences: ICCV2011, ICMI2013, CCIA2014, ECCV2014-2016, ICPR2016, and ICCV2017. I have participated in peer-reviewing processes for impact factor journals and conference proceedings in JMLR2014, TMultimedia2014, TPAMI2016, IET-CVI2016, ECCV2014-2016, ICCV2015-2017, CVPR2016, and FG2017. My main interests of research are the fields of computer vision, pattern recognition, behavior analysis and evolutionary computation applied to social computing.
